How to enable XMP or EXPO safely
Memory profiles configure advertised memory settings but are technically an overclock on many platforms and should be stability-tested.
Key things to check
- Boot successfully at defaults first
- Use the profile intended for the kit/platform
- Test stability afterwards
Why it matters for gaming
PC performance is the result of several components working together. Frame rate, frame-time consistency, loading, temperatures and upgrade compatibility can all be affected by the surrounding system. Use this guide as a starting point, then verify the specifications for your exact hardware.
Before you buy or change anything
Check the exact model numbers in your PC, read the motherboard and component documentation, and pay attention to FrameForecast compatibility warnings. A faster component is only a useful upgrade when the platform can safely support it and it improves the workload you actually care about.
