FPS vs refresh rate: what is the difference?

FPS is how many frames the PC produces each second. Refresh rate is how many times the monitor can update each second. The best experience comes from balancing both.

What to check

Use FrameForecast's FPS estimator and compatibility warnings as a starting point, then verify the specifications of your exact PC and any component you plan to buy. Game patches, drivers, cooling, background applications and settings can all affect real performance.

How FrameForecast can help

Compare hardware in the FPS estimator, run the PC benchmark on a desktop or laptop, and review the upgrade suggestions and compatibility warnings before deciding which component is worth changing.
